Dog Roading was originally designed to condition Hunting Dogs, using specially designed Roading Harnesses Dogs are tethered to almost any motor powered vehicle even a Horse basically something that is too heavy for them to propel. With the specially designed Roading Harness when the vehicle or the Horse moves forward the Dogs lean into their harness and essentially PUSH! They are stimulated by the moving vehicle or Horse and their competitive nature encourages the Dog to engage! The Harness and the weight of the vehicle or Horse pushes against the Dog and creates resistance. This resistance makes it an intense challenging exercise. With Hunting Dogs it’s only recommended to do this in short sessions as these Dogs can overwork quickly relatively speaking. I am probably one of the only ones to do this sport with Huskies of the Sled Dog Kind:) That's what the WooFDriver does, tries almost every K9 sport with his Huskies to find the best most exciting ways for them! Sled Dogs in general are like no other as they have endurance like most have NEVER experienced or can even believe. As you'd expect I've added some interesting vehicles for my Dog Roading activities which add a whole new dimension to my WooFDriver Lifestyle! You've NEVER seen anything like this! Below are videos the first being traditional Dog Roading and then is WooFDriver and some of his senior Dogs at the time. You can see for the senior Dogs it’s more like glorified Dog walk and a great way to get them out to a farm he rents to adventure with them! On this page further down you can see WooFDriver Dog Roading with his own style of vehicles and attachments and the Dogs engaging more!
WooFDrivere uses an ATV with the SPIDER ARM ROADING RIG (which he loves) in the videos above! BUT he has also pioneered ways to do Dog Roading with some BAD ASS more BIKE like style vehicles! At the time of their production and probably still holds true today I would venture to say they are some of the most capable OFF-ROAD electric vehicles next to an ATV if not more capable than am ATV! WooFDriver has adventured with these vehicles on his WooFDriver on Tour series where he tours trails, country roads, ATV & OHV trails, snow mobile trails, mountain bike trails, and almost anywhere he can run the Dogs like he does! He travels up and down the East Coast of the USA and is based out of Maryland. He has a "Pit Crew" some that travel with him to assist, film, and plan! Below are 2 videos to give you an idea of the capabillities of thesd vehicles with Dogs Roading them:) Keep in mind these Dogs are trained for this and safety is always my number one priority. There.s an abundance of safety measures built in to protect the Dogs in virtually any situation!
